G.T. Road stands for Grand Trunk Road. The Grand Trunk Road is one of Asia’s oldest and longest major roads. For at least 2,500 years it has linked Central Asia to the Indian subcontinent.
The Grand Trunk Road was built by Sher Shah Suri. He was a ruler of the Indian sub continent in the 16th century AD, starts in Kabul, Afghanistan. The road continues to Pakistan near Peshawar through the famous Khyber Pass.
