sisters and a brother. Nadia passes away, survived by her two parents,
Hamza and Hana. She chose not to have a wasiyyah. According to the

Sharia law on property distribution:

• Ali (the husband) will receive ¼ of her property in the presence of children or _1/2 when there is no child.
• Hamza and Hana (the parents) will receive ⅙ each.
• The two sons will receive ⅙ each.
• The daughter will receive 1/12.
• Nadia’s sisters and brother receive nothing.

So, a husband is entitled to half his deceased wife’s estate if she has no children.
If she has children, he is entitled to a quarter share as mentioned above.
