China has hosted, virtually, 14th BRICS Summit from 23 to 24 June 2014. India has blocked Pakistan’s participation in BRICS dialogue.

The BRICS stands for Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa. It is a cooperation between the world five emerging economies. BRICS is representing 41 per cent of the global population. Further, the BRICS represent 24pc of the overall global GDP and 16pc of the world trade.

13th BRICS Summit was hosted by India in 2021 online due to covid pandemic situations.

On 27th June 2022, The Foreign Office of Pakistan has confirmed that one member of the BRICS has blocked Pakistan’s participation in a BRICS dialogue for non-member states held online on 24th June 2022.

Pakistan and India are not on a good terms these days. Foreign Office of Pakistan did not mention the name of India but analysts and political thinkers say that it’s India who has blocked Pakistan’s participation in the BRICS dialogue for non-member states.
