If sum of two numbers is 30 and their difference is 8, What is their product?

A. 209
B. 201
C. 202
D. 176

If sum of two numbers is 30 and their difference is 8, What is their product?

Solution:

If sum of two numbers is 30 i.e
11+19=30

And their difference is 8 i.e
19-11=8

So, their product is  11×19=209 Answer

Other Method

If x+y= 30
& x-y= 8
Then by solving these equations numbers (x&y) are 11 & 19
then their product will be 209

Another Method

Suppose the number is x, now as given their difference is equal to 30 i.e

x-8=30
So, their sum will be as given
x + x-8=30
Now, simple solve the equation
2x=30+8
2x=38
x=19
Now, you can easily find second number
30-19=11
Hence, their product is
19*11=209
